What we do

Take a moment to explore the services we offer.

1. Food Provisions

For the past 15 years, Gateway Care has fed our community. No matter what age, gender or cultural background, struggling with food crisis.  We help by providing free food including hot meals, fresh bread, fruit and vegetables and the delivery of food packages.

OPENING TIMES: Tuesdays (by appointment) / Wednesdays 1pm

Gateway Care is open for anyone who is experiencing food crisis. We can also offer support to anyone, any day throughout the week. For more information, contact our office on 02 4093 1555

2. Food Distribution Hub

As the appointed Distribution Hub for “NSW SecondBite” we receive three to four pallets of food (including frozen protein) each week from Sydney and distribute it FREE of charge to non-Profits of Lake Macquarie and the Hunter who have proven food programs.

Bulk food supplied to non-profits provide over 3,000 nutritious meals each week for community members. Charities supplied include Salvation Army Belmont, Manna House, Soul Hub, Victory Care, and NourishEd.

Schools Support Program:  Gateway Care runs a special food program providing free food to high schools for students who have had no breakfast or means of accessing food at lunchtime.

To apply for distribution, please contact our team by email: operations@gatewaycarehunter.au

3. NDIS Supports

Launching new Casual Support Worker roles + Respite Care

In late 2025 Gateway Care Hunter will facilitate a new service offering casual support worker roles and respite care for NDIS participants needing additional supports.  Contact ndis@gatewaycarehunter.au for more information and interest.  We are looking to hire support workers with at least Cert IV in disability, a current police check and NDIS workers check.
